A local stroll
A stroll and a sketch near my beautiful home. I am trying to build up the good habit of keeping a sketchbook in my little bag so that when I take a breather on a walk I can do a sketch. Here I am at between Foss Quay and Southdown, the beach accessible at low tide only. The woods are in all their summer glory! Also a favourite spot of mine for gathering pottery fragments and other interesting treasure.

Stannon stone circle
A sketch and stroll to Stannon Stone circle, Bodmin Moor Stannon is rich area for lumps, bumps and possible prehistoric archaeology. It does make me wonder what could have on the moorland that has now been quarried away. The exciting spot on this trip however was the sun-basking adder (twice!) . Trippet Stone Circle
Sketching with the skylarks at Trippet Stone circle, near Blisland, Bodmin moors. Starting further south, just north of the A30 the vegetation change in the shallow valley suggested a boggy area. We did not stray down into the rough sedges but some moorland cows confirmed this, ankle deep in a muddy pool.
