Green Rame

Rame head from Whitsands. I am experimenting with ways of painting the same view using different approaches, at different scales.

I have been wanting to revisit this particular colour palette of steely greys for some larger seascapes. It uses a two colour chords of warm greys and cooler, greener greys all mixed from Emerald Green, Indian Red and titanium white – bringing in just a touch of blue at the end.  I wanted to capture the choppy sea, its movement and mood.  I have used the headland to give a better sense of scale to the rolling ocean
