Priest Cove

Porth Ust or Priest cove  near St Just and Cape Cornwall. The name Priest was a mistake by surveyors for ordnance survey - there were never any historical connections to the clergy. The original name 'Porth 'ust' from Porth Just became shortened until the closest word is resembled to a none-local was 'Priest'. 

If you walk this beautiful stretch of coastline be sure to explore the Bronze Age barrow on the headland to the east, just a short walk from St Just village.
